9-10 January 2020: Welcome to attendees at Project Workshop 1

We are delighted to welcome over 60 delegates to our first Arctic Cultures Project Workshop, ‘Knowledge Formations and Colonial Encounters in the Arctic’ over the next two days (9 and 10 January 2020). Fascinating papers are being presented on topics including the role of Inuit intermediaries in Arctic exploration, geo-social Arctic landscapes, the transfer of collections between the Arctic and the metropole, the role of the state and medicine in Greenland and northern Canada, indigneous bush theory and the Arctic as ‘natural region’. Find further details on this site and please follow our twitter account to learn more. We will post a review on the blog in the next week or two.
