Peter is presenting a paper on ‘Arctic Silence in Circulation: Mediating Inuit Geographical Knowledge’ at the London Group of Historical Geographers seminar series at 17:30-18:30, Tuesday 16 February 2021.
The paper will use a geographies of circulation framework to re-evaluate two examples of indigenous involvement within historical processes of Arctic exploration. These two examples will expose the complex circulatory processes through which these indigenous contributions to Arctic geographical knowledge were mediated and/or obscured, and will expose the diverse range of institutional actors involved in this power-laden circulatory system.
Further information and details of how to attend the seminar series are available here.
