Liz Walsh visited the Royal Geographical Society’s Foyle Reading Room to examine a collection of objects related to the search for John Franklin. The objects, collected by John Barrow junior and originally donated to the British Museum, were sent to the RGS in 1938 in exchange for a Carthaginian jar. The majority of the objects are models of various scales, including sledges and specialized Arctic travel equipment used by members of several Franklin search expeditions.
